If you are planning a trip to Seoul and thinking about microneedling, a skin booster or care for a scar, a clinic's own website is a sensible first place to look. This article sets out what five Seoul clinics say on their sites: what each lists, how it is done, the prices it publishes and what it offers visitors from abroad.

How to read this comparison

Each clinic is described under the same four headings. The facts come from the clinics' own web pages as they read on 25 October 2026, listed under Sources at the end. Where a page doesn't cover something, the entry says "not listed". That means the website is silent, not that the clinic can't help, so ask.

Prices are copied as published, in Korean won (KRW), with VAT as each clinic states it. Menus and prices change, so check the current page and confirm the details at consultation.

VEI Clinic comes first because it is the only one of the five that lists microneedling itself. The order is not a ranking.

Korea registers clinics that recruit patients from abroad. Two of the five clinics show a registration number on their sites. A clinic that doesn't show one may still be registered, and registration is a legal permission, not a mark of quality.

Terms used below

  • Microneedling. A pen with fine needles makes tiny channels in the skin. The skin's healing response is the main aim, and some clinics also use the channels to carry ingredients into the skin.
  • Skin boosters. A loose name for products injected into the skin to improve hydration and texture. Rejuran, made from purified fish DNA fragments (polynucleotides, or PN), is one; Juvelook and Re2O are other product names you will see below.
  • PRP. Platelet-rich plasma, prepared from a sample of your own blood.
  • Ultherapy and Thermage. Devices used for skin tightening. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound and Thermage uses radiofrequency. Neither uses needles, so they are not microneedling.
  • Fractional laser. A laser that acts on the skin in a grid of tiny columns, leaving the skin between them untouched.

VEI Clinic

An internal medicine clinic in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, a minute's walk from exit 5 of Apgujeong Station (Line 3). Its English pages are at veiclinic.com/en.

What it lists

Two skin treatments in its VEI Cell line: stem cell skin renewal, for the face and for dry or rough skin on the arms, thighs, abdomen and upper chest, and a stem cell facial. Both deliver what the clinic calls components obtained during stem cell culture, such as conditioned media, exosomes and growth factors.

The skin renewal page says the treatment does not use living stem cells and is designed to care for the skin, not to treat disease. It names fine lines, dullness, rough texture, uneven tone and visible pores as concerns of people it may suit, and says skin responds differently in each person and there may be no clear change.

Not listed on veiclinic.com: RF microneedling, laser skin treatment, polynucleotide boosters such as Rejuran, and scar treatment. The clinic's second English site, veiclinicseoul.com, mentions pairing stem cell ingredients with laser toning, RF microneedling or skin boosters, but the main site lists no laser or RF microneedling device among its equipment. Ask which of these, if any, the clinic performs.

How it is delivered and who performs it

For skin renewal, the ingredients are delivered by microneedling or applied so that they absorb into the skin, and numbing cream is used when microneedling is the method. For the facial, the specialist chooses between microneedling and small injections, depending on the skin, and the page lists numbing cream, delivery of the ingredients and a soothing finish as its steps. The clinic says both treatments are performed in-house.

The site names one doctor, Dr HyunSung Park, an internal medicine specialist, and says the specialist consults in person and chooses the method. It doesn't say whether other staff carry out any step. There is no fixed number of sessions; that is decided at consultation.

Prices it publishes

Not listed. No prices appear on the clinic's websites.

For visitors from abroad

The English About page says consultations, test results and treatment plans are explained one to one in English by Dr Park. The English pages offer WhatsApp, phone and KakaoTalk, and an online form for your concern and preferred visit date. No other languages are mentioned, and the site shows no registration number for international patients.

DOY JUN Plastic Surgery

A plastic surgery clinic in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu. Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9) connects directly to the building's second basement level. Its English site is at doyjunps.com/en.

What it lists

Skin boosters: Rejuran Healer, Juvelook and Elravie Re2O. The Korean page says the clinic picks among them by skin type and concern. Only Rejuran is described: its main ingredient is polynucleotide (PN), from DNA fragments extracted from salmon testes, and the page lists smaller pores and scars among its benefits. The Korean version adds that studies of PN injections showed promising results for wrinkles, texture and elasticity, but that the studies were of low to moderate quality and some found limited effects. The English page doesn't carry this note.

PRP, which the clinic calls DOY JUN Cell Therapy. Its Korean page says research on PRP injected into the skin or used with microneedling can't be applied directly to the clinic's own method, and none of its pages offers PRP with microneedling.

Ultherapy Prime appears in the clinic's fee table, but no page describes it.

Not listed as treatments: microneedling, RF microneedling, lasers, exosomes and acne-scar treatment. The site's guide articles discuss some of these in general terms, but no procedure page offers them.

How it is delivered and who performs it

A skin booster session takes 10 to 20 minutes with numbing cream and is repeated every three to four weeks, with no recovery time needed; the Korean page usually recommends three or more sessions. PRP takes one to two hours without anaesthesia and is given by injection or by IV.

The site lists three plastic surgery specialists and an anaesthetist. It doesn't say which of them performs skin boosters or PRP.

Prices it publishes

Skin boosters and PRP: not listed. The Korean pages say neither is in the fee table and both are priced at consultation.

Ultherapy Prime: KRW 320,000 to 627,000 for 100 shots, in the clinic's table of fees not covered by national health insurance. The fee page doesn't say whether VAT is included.

For visitors from abroad

The English site offers phone, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and a quick booking form, and the site also has Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Indonesian versions. The English pages say they are translations of the Korean site and ask you to confirm details at consultation. Staff languages and interpreters are not listed. The directions page gives a route from Incheon Airport: the Airport Railroad to Gimpo Airport, then the Line 9 express to Sinnonhyeon. The site shows no registration number for international patients.

Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery

A plastic surgery clinic in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, directly in front of exit 1 of Sinsa Station (Line 3). Its English site is hyundaisurgery.com.

What it lists

A skin menu of five items: Ultherapy, Thermage, Onda, Botox and filler. The clinic describes Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX and Onda as non-incisional skin lifting that uses ultrasound or radiofrequency energy to improve elasticity and sagging.

Skin boosters have no page of their own. The Korean pages say boosters such as Rejuran, Juvelook and Re2O are sometimes offered in packages that change with the season, for example alongside skin Botox or in a lifting package.

Not listed: microneedling, RF microneedling such as Potenza, or a skin booster as a treatment in its own right.

How it is delivered and who performs it

Ultherapy and Thermage, according to the Korean price pages, are carried out in person by a plastic surgery specialist, while the English skin page states that a board-certified plastic surgeon doses Botox per area. Onda is set out as a programme, usually consisting of three to five sessions. Three plastic surgeons and a neurosurgeon are named on the site.

Prices it publishes

  • Ultherapy Prime, 300 shots: KRW 1,400,000 as a standalone treatment, VAT excluded. The Korean page calls this a standard full-face course.
  • Thermage FLX, 300 shots: KRW 1,400,000 as a standalone treatment, VAT excluded, described on the Korean page as a partial, focused course.
  • Onda: no figure. It is quoted after diagnosis, depending on the area and the number of sessions, and the clinic says all amounts are VAT extra.
  • Skin booster packages: not listed.

The English skin page says an accurate estimate is given at a free one-to-one consultation.

For visitors from abroad

The Korean site links to versions in English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Russian, Indonesian and Mongolian. Consultations are offered by phone, online and on KakaoTalk, and the online forms ask for a WhatsApp number; replies on the online consultation board are read after logging in. The English skin page mentions a 24-hour emergency contact line and an aftercare programme. From Incheon Airport, the clinic suggests limousine bus 6009 from stop 11B to its first stop, Sinsa-dong. Coordinators and interpreters are not mentioned, and the site shows no registration number for international patients.

The Swan Plastic Surgery

A single-surgeon clinic for eye surgery, with a focus on revision eye surgery, on Teheran-ro 51-gil in Gangnam-gu, five minutes from exit 5 of Seolleung Station. The site is in Korean; its only English text is a paragraph on the international patients page.

What it lists

Care for scars after eye surgery, which the clinic says combines hyperbaric oxygen therapy, fractional laser and scar injections (scar care page, in Korean):

  • Fractional laser, naming the Sciton Joule ProFractional and Er:YAG lasers, for incision scars, scars from inner-corner eye surgery (epicanthoplasty) and scars left where a stitched double eyelid has come undone
  • Scar injections of steroid or collagen, planned around the scar's thickness and swelling
  • Regeneration injections, sometimes given one to two months after surgery while a scar is still red; the product is not named
  • Pigment care for scars, alongside fractional laser
  • Hyperbaric oxygen, which the clinic calls supportive care during recovery, usually given once on the day of surgery and once on the day the stitches come out

Not listed: microneedling, RF microneedling, skin boosters, exosomes and acne-scar treatment. The clinic also performs revision surgery on scars from earlier eye operations, which is surgery rather than skin treatment.

How it is delivered and who performs it

The clinic says the depth, energy and number of sessions for laser and injections vary from case to case, and that whether they suit you depends on the individual and the stage of recovery. Dr Sung-ho Hwang, a plastic surgery specialist and the clinic's only doctor, handles examination, design, surgery and follow-up checks. The pages we read don't say who carries out laser or injection sessions, or whether they are offered to people who had surgery elsewhere.

Prices it publishes

From the clinic's fee table (in Korean, last changed 5 June 2025). These rows are marked as including VAT:

  • Regeneration injection: KRW 110,000 (basic) or 220,000 (mix)
  • Hyperbaric oxygen, as aftercare: KRW 130,000 to 150,000
  • Radiofrequency, 30 minutes, as aftercare: KRW 80,000 to 100,000; the site doesn't describe the device or what it is for

Fractional laser, scar injections and pigment care: not listed.

For visitors from abroad

The site shows the clinic's registration as a provider for international patients, number M-2025-01-08-8471, valid until 16 January 2028. It says people living abroad and foreigners living in Korea can both consult, by phone, KakaoTalk or Naver TalkTalk. No page mentions consultation in a language other than Korean or the use of interpreters, and there is no WhatsApp, WeChat or LINE link.

U&U Plastic Surgery

A plastic surgery clinic focused on breast surgery, in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, about 400 m from exit 4 of Apgujeong Station (Line 3). Its English site is unupskorea.com.

What it lists

Care for scars from breast surgery, in stages, set out on its scar page and aftercare page:

  • Within three months: scar ointments, with adhesive products such as Steri-Strip and CicaCare
  • After three months: toning laser, Fraxel laser and similar treatments, depending on the scar. The clinic says not everyone needs them and that it judges by the colour and texture of the scar.
  • After a year: scar revision surgery under local anaesthesia may be considered

Its breast augmentation page also says post-operative laser care is given in five sessions. Healite, an LED light device, is used after breast surgery, and the clinic says it works best within two to three weeks of the operation. The clinic states that some of its aftercare programmes are not scientifically validated and are offered for patients' comfort and peace of mind.

Not listed: microneedling, RF microneedling, skin boosters, acne-scar treatment, or any skin treatment outside surgical aftercare, apart from filler and Botox rows on the Korean price page that no page describes.

How it is delivered and who performs it

Scar revision is part of the chief director's practice: Dr Kikap Kim, a board-certified plastic surgeon, lists scar revision among his specialties, and the clinic says it also sees scars from surgery done at other clinics. The pages we read don't say who performs laser sessions. After you go home, the clinic invites you to send progress photos so it can check the scar remotely.

Prices it publishes

Not listed for scar care. The Korean price page covers surgery and a few non-surgical items but no scar laser or skin care, and the English site publishes no surgery or scar-care prices.

For visitors from abroad

The website runs in nine languages, and online consultation is offered in the same languages. The clinic says interpretation at an in-person visit depends on the language and the dates, and is not guaranteed in every language at all times. Contact is by phone, online consultation, WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat depending on your region, and KakaoTalk. The site shows the clinic's registration as a provider for international patients, number M-2020-01-08-5773, valid until 14 July 2029, and notes that this is a legal permission, not a quality award or a ranking.

Fitting treatment into a trip

Several of these treatments are planned as courses. Microneedling usually means several sessions a few weeks apart, and DOY JUN Plastic Surgery gives three to four weeks between skin booster sessions. A short trip may allow only one session, so ask what a single session can do and what the clinic suggests for the rest of the course.

Freshly treated skin is more prone to pigmentation. Plan days outdoors with that in mind, and keep up daily SPF for at least two weeks after a session.

Scar care follows the healing of the wound. U&U Plastic Surgery describes laser from three months after surgery and revision after a year, and The Swan Plastic Surgery describes regeneration injections one to two months after surgery. That can mean a return visit; U&U also offers follow-up by photo once you are home.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Who will perform the treatment, and what is their specialty?
  • Which product or device is going to be used, and is that the one the website names?
  • Does the quoted price include VAT, numbing cream and aftercare?
  • How many sessions do you suggest, and how far apart?
  • What follow-up can you offer once I am home?

FAQs

Is microneedling the same as a skin booster?

No. Microneedling makes tiny channels in the skin with needles; a skin booster is a product injected into the skin. Some ingredients are used both ways: polynucleotides, for example, are applied as serums during microneedling and also given as injections. Of the five clinics here, only VEI Clinic lists microneedling, and it uses it to deliver ingredients obtained from stem cell culture.

Do any of these clinics publish a price for a skin booster?

No. DOY JUN Plastic Surgery prices its skin boosters at consultation, Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery sometimes offers them in seasonal packages, without a published figure, and VEI Clinic publishes no prices. Among the treatments covered here, the published prices are for Ultherapy Prime and Thermage FLX at Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, Ultherapy Prime at DOY JUN Plastic Surgery, and the regeneration injections and aftercare items at The Swan Plastic Surgery.

Does VEI Clinic's stem cell treatment use live stem cells?

No, according to the clinic. Its skin renewal page says the treatment uses ingredients obtained during stem cell culture, such as conditioned media, exosomes and growth factors, and not living stem cells. Research on exosomes in skin care is still early, and the rules on how exosome products may be used differ from country to country.

Can I have scar care at The Swan or U&U after surgery elsewhere?

U&U Plastic Surgery says it also sees scars from surgery done at other clinics. The Swan Plastic Surgery's pages describe its laser and injections as part of scar care after eye surgery and don't say whether they are offered on their own, so ask the clinic.
